I love my garden: a love that reflects the elemental nature of the garden and the beauty that enfolds me when I am in it. I am gentler, wiser and often inspired in the presence of nature. I also love words, the beauty of thoughts when words are put together. Being immersed in beauty nourishes our souls and can nurture our creativity.

I find beauty everywhere – in nature, in the garden, in people, in deeds, in images and ideas, but most especially in words and the way they can be woven together to tell stories. One of the ways I like to tell a story is through quote books. Beautiful illustrated books that marry words and images to weave a story that motivates and inspires.

A small example. Here I combine nature quotes with an image of bees feeding from a grafted gum in my garden, to bring greater meaning and beauty to the quotes.

One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

The flower is the poetry of reproduction. It is an example of the eternal seductiveness of life.
