When better to launch a new website than on a new moon, the symbolic portal to new beginnings. Like the tides, the moon ebbs and flows, a rhythm that women understand intimately. New moons are a blank page on which to speak our dreams out loud.
Christine Lister is a writer with a passion for inspiring and motivating people. Also an incurable romantic and a dreamer who believes planetary energies such as the moon, link you to something larger than yourself, to the power of the divine.
Throughout nature there are a cavalcade of energetic counterparts – light/dark, less/more, male/female, etc. The moon is the counterpart to the sun. Whilst the sun is symbolic of the fraternal (male, yang) aspect, the moon is the maternal (female or yin) influence.
More intriguing than gender, is the means by which the moon wields her force and influence. She is considered a luminary, yet produces no light of her own accord, reliant instead upon the sun’s light to reflect or mirror her image to our earthly eyes. This method of projecting light makes the moon a symbol of subtlety. Where the sun will boldly bear down its blaze, the moon softly enfolds our attention, illumining our psyche in a gossamer glow, leaving us more open to our intuition and feelings..
